IN high school, I remember our economics teacher telling us, “While growing up, some of you will come to a point where you will think that your fathers are some ignoramus — and that you would think that you are smarter than them. But then as you grow older, like me, you would then find out that your fathers, indeed, are truly very smart. Sasabihin ninyo, ‘tama nga palaang sinasabi ng tatay ko.’”
