As first place winner in the Professional Watercolor category on the county level, Angelito L. David’s (pictured above) entry went on to compete at the state level to vie with the rest of the first place winners from the different counties of New Jersey in the same category.

Representing Union County at the State Senior Citizens Art Show, the same piece entitled “Febrrrrrr....2015” garnered first place again at the state level.

David is recipient of the Pamana ng Lahi 2010 award as one of the outstanding Filipinos overseas from President Benigno Aquino III.

He has been active within the art circle of the New York and New Jersey areas.

On Oct. 16, David joined 19 other visual artist-members of the Society of Philippine American Artists (SPAA) for an exhibit entitled Territory: Unlimited where they focus on contemporary art, from representational to abstract works, while they explore art and living against the backdrop of their inherited mixed culture as citizens of the world.

This year, SPAA is reaching beyond their perennial site, the Philippine Center in Manhattan, and is partnering with Topaz Arts Gallery to celebrate Filipino American History Month at 55-03 39th Avenue, Woodside, Queens, NY 11377.

Topaz Arts Visual Arts Program is pleased to present Territory: Unlimited, on view until Nov. 21, 2015.

Admission is complimentary.
