The 2019 Philippine Independence Day ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 12:30 p.m.

It will be hosted by Bergen County Executive James Tedesco III and the Board of Chosen Freeholders with the following Constitutional Officers in attendance and/or represented: Sheriff Anthony Cureton, Surrogate Michael R. Dressler, County Clerk John S. Hogan and Prosecutor Mark Musella.

The Filipino-American community in Bergen County has played an important cultural, political, economic and social role.

The increasing number of Filipinos is now at approximately 24,000.

As the County celebrates its diversity, it looks to highlight the many contributions and achievements of the Filipino-American community.

Bergen County is honoring Filipino-Americans residing in the county for their contributions in their own fields and industries.

This event is great for recognizing the overall Filipino community.

The event will be attended by Deputy Consul General Kerwin Orville Tate, Dale Talde — the celebrated chef, Filipino leaders, and Bergenfield Councilmen Arvin Amatorio and Buddy Deauna.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

There will be food and refreshments served after the program that is donated by local Filipino businesses and restaurants.
