“Celebrating Fil Am History Month would not be complete and would not be complete and worthwhile if we do not present and showcase our own culture,” said Jerry Sibal of J&S Productions.

“It is only fitting to invite our own world class piano virtuoso Dr. Raul Sunico (pictured above) to grace the celebration.”

J&S Productions, in cooperation with the Felipe P. de Leon Foundation, heads the presentation of the internationally acclaimed pianist Raul Sunico in concert on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m., at the Merkin Concert Hall, Kaufman Music Center in New York.

Sunico will perform Sonate, Op. 1 by Berg, Nocturne in B, Op.15 No. 1 and Ballade No. 4 in F Minor, Op. 52 by Chopin, Liszt’s Vallee D’Obermann, Rachmaninoff’s Preludes, Op. 32, No. 1 in C, No. 2 in B-flat Minor, No. 5 in G, No. 12 in G-sharp Minor, Etude Tableau in E-flat Minor, Op 39, No. 5, and Moment Musical in E Minor, Op. 16 No. 4.

He will also play Kundiman by De Leon, Hangggang Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan by Canseco, Piazzolla’s Adios Nonino and Milonga del Angel and Ravel’s La Valse.

“The concert will allow our Filipino-Americans to connect with Filipino roots and provide mainstream audience to appreciate our talent and culture,” said Sibal.

Merkin Concert Music Hall is located at 129 West 67th Street in New York.

In addition, the Philippine Consulate General, in cooperation with J&S Productions and the Felipe P. de Leon Foundation, will present Raul Sunico conducting a Masterclass at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Center on Thursday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., in New York.
