Multi-awarded actor Emilio Garcia (photo above) paid a courtesy call on the Filipino Reporter office at the Empire State Building last week while touring the city’s top attractions.

He was in town for several days (until Nov. 30) for the International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM), where his film “Sagrada Familia” was screened.

The ex-ramp model, who is currently seen in two GMA Pinoy TV’s top rating dramas “Time Of My Life” and “Tween Hearts,” presented the Best Music Video Award (for Charice Pempengco’s “Louder”) in the IFFM, which was co-founded by Fil-Am Luis Pedron.

The star of critically-acclaimed films like “Selda,” “Walang Kawala,” “Rotonda” and “Birador” has won Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor trophies from Famas, Urian, Star Awards, Gawad Tanglaw and Cinemalaya.

In 2008, he tied with his “Selda” co-star Sid Lucero for Best Actor at the 49th Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece.”

He counts Filipino veterans Eddie Garcia and Phillip Salvador, and Hollywood vets Kevin Costner and Kevin Bacon as among his showbiz role models.
