ON Dec. 1, I broke ground on the initial phase of critical infrastructure work at Willets Point in Queens, including construction of a sanitary sewer main and reconstruction of a storm sewer and outfall.

DEPUTY Mayor Robert K. Steel, Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) Commissioner Mathew M. Wambua and I recently announced that the city has allocated $14.4 million in Low Income Housing Tax Credits to 13 affordable housing projects.

BROOKLYN Navy Yard Development Corporation President Andrew Kimball and I recently cut the ribbon on BLDG 92, a $25 million exhibition and visitors center that documents the historic significance of the 300-acre Brooklyn Navy Yard, and announced new hiring commitments from Navy Yard tenants.

WHEN Ken Rothman’s father passed away in 1985, Ken came down from Boston to close up the clothing store his father owned on Fifth Avenue.
