Phil-Am Friendship Day parade at Philadelphia

JULY 4—Join the Philippine American Friendship Day parade at the birthplace of American independence in Philadelphia starting at 11 a.m. sharp. Roads will be closed at 9 a.m. so all cars of participants and spectators must be parked before 9 .am. Come in national costumes. The parade will end at 2 p.m., after which a pool party for DC parade participants will be hosted by Philadelphia/NJ Fil-Am community leaders Dr. Rommel and Dr. Aida Rivera. Screening of ‘Modern Slaves’ with Pinoy overseas workers

JULY 9—A community screening of Marie Boti's film "Modern Heroes, Modern Slaves," about the condition and struggles of overseas Filipino workers, will be presented by Anakbayan from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Social Space, Gilligan Student Union Bldg., New Jersey City University (NJCU), 2039 John F.
