NOV. 25—A charity auction of works by award-winning artists of Artists for Philippines will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Center on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan (between 45th and 46th Streets). Featuring a collection of works in oil, acrylic and mixed media paintings of varying styles from realism to the post-modern technique of combining abstract and figurative. ‘Here Lies Love’ one-time only for Yolanda victims

NOV. 25—David Byrne and the original cast of the acclaimed musical “Here Lies Love” will perform a one-time-only special benefit concert in support of the victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). All proceeds for the 8 p.m. show at Terminal 5 (610 West 56th Street) will go to Doctors Without Borders Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) relief efforts in the Philippines. Townhall meeting to help in rehabilitation of Visayas

NOV. 26—A town hall style gathering will be held at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Center on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan starting at 6:30 p.m. to update the community on the developments in the Philippines almost three weeks after Haiyan (Yolanda) battered the Visayas region. “Friends of FilCom: Giving Together To Rebuild Lives” is an opportunity to discuss the present situation in the calamity areas and how best to address their needs. Attendees are asked to donate $100 to make a significant impact on the rebuilding efforts in areas devastated by Haiyan.
