Simbang Gabi at Most Precious Blood Lower Church NYC

DEC. 24—The annual Filipino mass Simbang Gabi will be held for nine-days at Most Precious Blood Lower Church at 32-23  36th Street, Long Island City, Queens, N.Y. (R train to Steinway stop. Church is between 34th Ave. and Broadway) Weekday masses start at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday masses start at 5 p.m. There is an ongoing Filipino healing mass, the only regular mass in Filipino, regularly being held every Sunday at 5 p.m. in the same lower church. Sponsor of the masses is the Filipino community in Astoria (Bro. Amerito, coordinator).

Ma-Yi Theater’s ‘Flipzoids’ at Peter Jay Sharp Theatre in NYC

JAN. 11—Ma-Yi Theater Company, one of the leading Asian-American theater companies, will continue its 2010-11 season with "Flipzoids," a play written by Ralph B. Peña, with previews set to begin Jan. 11, 2011 prior to an official opening on Jan. 18 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre (416 West 42 Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues) in Manhattan. Tagalog course for Fil-Am children starts January 2011

JAN. 29—The Filipino School of New York & New Jersey located in Jersey City, N.J. is offering an eight-session Tagalog program epecially made for Filipino culture loving kids ages 5 to 12.
