Ma-Yi Theater’s ‘Flipzoids’ at Peter Jay Sharp Theatre in NYC

ONGOING—Ma-Yi Theater Company, one of the leading Asian-American theater companies, will continue its 2010-11 season with "Flipzoids," a play written by Ralph B. Peña, with previews set to begin Jan. 11, 2011 prior to an official opening on Jan. 18 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues) in Manhattan. Directed by Loy Arcenas, Flipzoids stars Ching Valdes Aran, Carlo Alban and Tina Chilip. "Flipzoids" will run at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 W. 42nd St.) Jan. 11 to Feb. 6. 'Unpacking Violence' opening gallery exhibit at bOb gallery

Tagalog course for Fil-Am children starts January 2011

JAN. 29—The Filipino School of New York & New Jersey located in Jersey City, N.J. is offering an eight-session Tagalog program epecially made for Filipino culture loving kids ages 5 to 12. Children will be taught basic Tagalog vocabulary, writing, craft making, singing, and dancing. UPMASA hosts medical mission for indigents in Bani, Pangasinan

FEB. 13-18—The University of the Philippines Medical Alumni Society in America (UPMASA) will hold charitable medical/surgical/dental mission in Bani, Pangasinan for indigent patients. Surgery will be performed at the Alaminos District Hospital. This will be in partnership with Ugnayan ng Pahinungod (UNP), the medical mission division of the Philippine General Hospital. About 80 volunteers (doctors, nurses and spouses) from all over the U.S. and 35 doctors and nurses from UNP participate. Donation of medicine has been received from the Catholic Medical Mission Board, UNILAB and Mercury Drug Co. Cataract kits with lenses have been donated by Bausch & Lomb.
