Pampanga girl gets Gift of Life

Five-year-old Princez Mallari (seen here held by her mother Michelle) of Pampanga recently had a successful surgery to repair a hole in her heart at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, N.Y. under the auspices of Rotary International’s Gift of Life Program.

Shown with her at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore’s Pediatric Heart Clinic during a follow-up visit are Princez’s Gift of Life host Bob Klingen (left) of the Allentown/Saddle River (NJ) Rotary Club, and Montefiore pediatric cardiologist Dr. Raj Shenoy.

Princez and her mother are expected to return to the Philippines this month.
