Philippine Consul General in New York Ma. Theresa B. Dizon-de Vega met with New York Police Commissioner James P. O’Neill at the NYPD Headquarters on June 7, 2017 to promote stronger cooperation with New York’s police force.

During the meeting, the consul general thanked the commissioner for the security arrangements being provided by New York’s Finest for the Philippines’ diplomatic personnel based in New York, visiting Philippine officials, and the Filipino-American community.

The consul general also extended the Filipino-American community’s appreciation for the active participation of the men and women of the NYPD during the Philippine Independence Day Parade,Cultural Show and Street Fair held on June 4, 2017.

The NYPD and the Philippine Consulate General likewise agreed to continue discussions on the possible renewal of the existing MOU on Cooperation in Preventing and Combating Transnational Crimes between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the NYPD.

Mrs. de Vega noted the importance of maintaining close linkages among police forces in the Philippines and the U.S.

They were joined in the meeting by the Consulate’s Political Officer and Manager of the Philippine Center Consul Arman R. Talbo.
