EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — DIRECTV, the world’s most popular video service, continues to expand its leadership in the Filipino market with an ad campaign that’s sure to delight Filipino-Americans all over the country.

The campaign was launched on Feb. 14, 2011.

Jake Lopez, a 26-year-old recent immigrant from Manila and an aspiring actor, will star in a series of ads that puts the Filipino’s upbeat spirit right on center stage.

Born and raised in the Philippines, this is Lopez’s first major endorsement deal and he couldn’t be any happier with appearing in DIRECTV’s commercials.

He is especially excited about this new campaign because the television spot also features Filipinos from all walks of life.

“That’s what makes this campaign so different, and a breakthrough from all the Filipino ads that are shown here in the U.S.,” said Lopez.

“I’m really proud to be a part of this project.”

Lopez, together with an all-Filipino cast, will star in a television commercial, as well as print ads that are slated to come out in February.
