On Nov. 6, at the glamorous grand ballroom of Astoria World Manor in Astoria, N.Y., “Mrs. Philippines-USATM 2011” was crowned with about 500 guests in attendance.

The five pretty candidates were showcasing their gorgeous evening gowns and lovely “mestiza dresses” (Filipiniana gowns).
 

The Mrs. Philippines-USATM pageant is sponsored by the Filipino Social Club of New York, Inc. for 28 years, ongoing, and it was the highlight of the club’s 76th anniversary.

It was a night to remember as the guests were having a grand time.

Rose Pacia Labelle of Woodside, N.Y., was crowned “Mrs. Philippines-USATM 2011” and won the “Best in Evening Gown,” while Cecilia Abraham of Elmhurst was crowned as “Mrs. Phil-Am USA 2011.”

Denia Glaeser of Flushing garnered the title of “Mrs. Luzvimin-USA 2011”; Ruby Hammond of Westbury, N.Y., garnered the title of “Mrs. Mindanao-USA 2011” and “Best in Talent”; and Virginia Potolin as “Mrs. Manila-USA 2011.”

The winning Mrs. Philippines-USATM 2011 was awarded a round trip ticket to the Philippines on her journey as the “Ambassadress of Goodwill,” and will distribute the club’s charity in her hometown.

Joann Carman, president of The Filipino Social Club of New York, Inc., is now accepting applications for the Mrs. Philippines-USATM 2012 pageant.
