Since it opened in December 2010, Mizumi Sushi and Seafood Buffet Restaurant on Northern Boulevard in Little Neck has become a consistent crowd drawer (and pleaser).

Noted Asian-Americans, including New York City Comptroller and mayoral candidate John Liu, have dined here, according to general manager Kenneth Chiang.

And they all keep coming back, he proudly added.

Many of the regulars are Filipinos, who would return with their families and friends.

“Word of mouth...it helps a lot,” said the U.S.-educated Chiang, son of Mizumi owners Edward and Marianne Chiang.

“Our guests are very satisfied and they want their loved ones to also experience Mizumi.”

Mizumi, which means lake in Japanese, specializes in freshest seafood like sashimi, oysters, crabs and fish like mackerel.

It’s also famous for its wide array of artistically presented sushi that taste heavenly.

It also boasts a sumptuous selection of meat and poultry dishes like teriyaki, short ribs, hot wings, plus a selection of entrees for the veggies and health conscious.

The dessert is likewise impressive with a heavenly selection of cakes and pastries, fruits and a refreshing taro frozen yogurt.

“Freshness, taste and presentation...those are the keys,” Chiang pointed out.

“Always think of the people’s satisfaction.”

Another secret of Mizumi is it’s world-class executive chef Jeffrey Moon, who previously worked for the famous Manhattan restaurant Tao.

Chiang also took note of Mizumi’s efficient and friendly staff, and which customers always appreciate.

Mizumi is like a multi-cultural experience, offering Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese style dishes.

“But it’s basically Japanese,” Chiang said of Mizumi, also noted for its Japanese interiors with subdued elegance, and which he helped design being an architecture graduate of Pratt Institute.

Mizumi can accommodate up to 250 people, with a party room for private gatherings.

But with its growing number of customers Chiang said plans to expand are underway, which could be implemented anytime next year.

Mizumi, which has an ample parking space, is located at 231-10 Northern Boulevard, Little Neck, NY 11362.
