Ugly Kitchen in Lower Manhattan on May 22, 2018 was the scene for a Media Culinary Tour in support of Filipino Restaurant Week 2018 (FRW 2018).

Hosting some members of the Filipino-American Press Club of New York (FAPCNY) was Marie Therese Necio-Ortega, a consultant for the Philippine Department of Tourism - New York Office.

She attended in lieu of Susan Del Mundo, Tourism Attaché for the DOT in New York, who was unable to attend.

Media feasted on Arroz Caldo, Ugly Grilled Chicken, Grilled/Fried Pompano; and Calamansi speciality beverages.

Joining media at the dinner table was Ugly Kitchen Owner and Chef Aris Tuazon.

“We try our best to serve authentic Filipino dishes from our homeland,” said Tuazon.

“It is important to have knowledge of the Filipino food we are serving our customers.”
