Makati Shangri-La, Manila welcomes Singapore’s very own celebrity chef, Sam Leong, as he shares his expertise in a cooking class and creates a culinary masterpiece in an exclusive set dinner on June 3 and 4, 2011 at Shang Palace.

Chef Sam’s 26 years of culinary genius has catapulted him to be Singapore’s most celebrated chef, with an array of popular cooking shows and a published number of books, namely, A Wok Through Time, Sensations and A Taste of Home.

Chef Sam is also part of Singapore Airlines’ prestigious International Culinary Panel comprised of eight award-winning chefs from the culinary capitals of the world.

The Panel, which also includes Michelin chefs Georges Blanc of France and Gordon Ramsay of the United Kingdom, is in charge of creating a selection of exclusive signature dishes, specially designed for Singapore Airlines’ discerning travellers.

Chef Sam performs the role of food consultant while touring the world as an exclusive guest chef with his wife, Forest.

When he’s not travelling, he spends his time teaching students in his own culinary school called Sam.Leong@Forest Cooking School in Singapore.

His ability to give Chinese cuisine a modern touch with the use of Western and Asian spices has made him a trend-setter in the culinary industry, making him a favorite amongst peers and food enthusiasts alike.

Chef Sam’s list of accolades includes being the official chef of dignitaries and public figures from all over the world, such as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, former U.S. Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton, and His Majesty King Bhumibhol Adulyadej of Thailand.

He has represented Singapore in some of the world’s most prestigious culinary events for over a decade, consistently being named Chef of the Year and receiving various awards in excellence.

He was once acclaimed as the youngest head chef in Thailand and Singapore when he was stationed in these countries at the young age of 24.
