Eva Ramos Centina (pictured above) died Dec. 15, 2014 in Belleville, N.J.

She died from complications of Parkinson’s disease.

She was 89.

She received the last rites from her second child, Rev. Gilbert Luis R. Centina, III, OSA.

She was born to Eliodoro Fobar Ramos and Francesca Gomez on Oct. 5, 1925 in Bago City, Negros Occidental.

Her mother was a teacher who learned English from the Thomasites.

Her father was a landowner who fought against Spain.

She was 16 when she married Luis T. Centina Jr., an intelligence officer of the United States Army Forces in the Far East (USAFFE).

They had eight children.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters Louella and Heidi and their spouses Mateo Garnado and Joseph Mannuzza; sons Fr. Gilbert, Pierce, Evans and his wife Mary Joan, and Christopher and his wife Liezl; and grandchildren Clark Kendall, Mark, Michelle, Cindy, Francis, Israel, Marja Katrina, Jon Paolo, Samantha, Chester Louis, Gio, Eulo and Emmanuel.

There was a private funeral mass service; and the burial was held at Glendale Cemetery in Belleville.
