Philippine ambassador to the U.S. Jose Manuel G. Romualdez met with Congressman Joseph Kennedy III at the latter’s Constituency Office in Newton, Massachusetts on March 9, 2018.

During a very cordial and lively exchange Romualdez and Kennedy discussed matters of mutual concern in the areas of Philippines-U.S. defense and security relations, recent developments in the Asia-Pacific Region, Counter-Terrorism, Climate Change, the Philippine Government’s Anti-Drug campaign, and how to further enhance Philippines-U.S. relations.

Both likewise cited the strong people-to-people ties between the Philippines and the U.S.

Romualdez extended an invitation to Kennedy to once again visit the Philippines after joining a U.S. Congressional Delegation Visit in February 2014 during which the congressman had the opportunity to visit the ambassador’s home province of Leyte after the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).
